Rockport City Hall
Rockport City Hall
The Rockport City Hall project involved the new construction of a two-story, cast-in-place concrete structure located in the heart of downtown Rockport, Texas. The 27,900-square-foot facility was built on an active site that also housed two additional construction projects running concurrently. The new City Hall accommodates the municipal courts, council chambers, and offices for all city departments, providing a consolidated and resilient civic center for the community.
The project was designed in collaboration with the adjacent Aransas County Courthouse, which was constructed by Teal Construction at the same time, creating a cohesive civic campus. Architecturally, the building features a blend of brick, stucco, wood, tile, and clay roofing, combining durability with regional character. The facility was engineered to withstand Category 5 hurricane conditions, ensuring continued operation during extreme weather events.
This project’s funding structure was unique, incorporating both City funds and federal FEMA dollars, which required specialized documentation and compliance throughout the construction process, particularly in relation to payment applications and reporting standards.
