Oak Forest Library

The Oak Forest Library project consisting of 4,400 SF addition and remodel to an existing library for a completed total of 11,825 SF. During this project, there were multiple construction methods and materials used to certify the building as LEED Gold. Throughout the demolition of the existing building, in order to reduce waste and preserve historical features, the existing clay masonry and mosaic tiles from the existing façade were salvaged and refurbished. The renovation increased 75% of daylight into the buildings and improved the indoor environmental quality. Other indoor environmental quality improvements included low VOC, rubber flooring, and HVAC systems with air monitoring, MERV 13 filters, and indoor chemical and pollutant source control measures have been installed and implemented to control air quality and pollutants.
