GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY - NEW CONSTRUCTION PLANNED
SPRING, TEXAS - A ground breaking ceremony for the fire station for Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 8 is scheduled for September 18, 10:00 pm at 29240 Birnham Woods Drive in Spring, Texas.

The new fire station will be a 1-story structure totaling approximately 9,480 square feet on a 6.29 acre site. The facility includes a 100 ft. radio tower, offices, study, work-out room, laundry facility, 4 dormitory style rooms, 2 apparatus bays, storage mezzanine and kitchen/dining area. Construction consists of pre-engineered metal building, standing seam roof, split faced CMU block, brick, stucco and cast stone.
The new fire station will house 4 Montgomery County ESD employees, and construction will be complete in early 2010. The existing station will become an ambulance maintenance facility.
Construction of the new facility is being handled by Teal Construction, a full-service general contractor, founded in Houston in 1947.
Architectural services are provided by KA Hickman Architects, an architectural firm serving Texas for over 25 years.
